Question:

Which type of motorcycle!!?

I‘ve been looking to buy a motorcycle for a while now and I‘m stuck between a Kawasaki Ninja 250r and a Kawasaki Klx250s. I‘m stuck between a dual sport and Sportbike. I live in a suburban area of New Jersey. I was also wondering which is best choice budget wise. Any help will be much appreciated!

Answer:

For mostly city-riding than my suggestion is the KLX, easier to handle in tighter spaces and no need for too much higher speeds. You'll need to research some cost factors to compare one to the other but as a first-time rider the KLX will be slightly cheaper to insure. If you decide on the KLX make sure you have nice all-season tires, something in the line of the Michelin Ankee 3. Pretty good on the street and not too bad off-road if that is the case.
There are few worse places to take your time than stuck in the traffic jam, but it is also a very expensive method of travelling. Every time that you simply stop and start within traffic, your car needs first gear and a lot of fuel to get shifting again. Second gear isn't much better. The best answer is to not travel throughout the rush hour. You can also conserve some fuel by attempting to understand what the traffic is doing before you, and travelling steadily in a slow speed, rather compared to accelerating and braking. If you need to travel in rush hour a great deal, then you could consider purchasing a hybrid car, which uses a smaller amount fuel in town than the usual normal petrol or diesel-powered. to know more
Some motorcycles are made to go on and off road. That's a broad category, though. There are bikes that are meant mostly for street riding but they can do a limited amount of gravel roads, dirt roads, etc. Then there are bikes that are almost totally dirt bikes but are legal on the street, but not as much fun on the street as in the dirt. The KLX is more at the dirt end of the spectrum. It looks like a dirt bike. The tires on it are a compromise between street and dirt, not ideal for either. The seat looks like it would really be uncomfortable after a couple hours of riding, but in dirt riding you don't use the seat as much. Plus the suspension travel is more for dirt riding, and the shock absorbers are also compromises. So the question is: Would you be riding more on the street or in the dirt? If you were riding more on dirt, the KLX would be the better choice. If you plan to go on dirt very seldom, or never, the Ninja is a better choice. Better handling, more comfortable, etc. They're both trainer bikes. You could start on either one.
