Answer:

I was like you until recently, couldn't decide between top or front loader. I ended up getting a front loader haven't looked back. It's a beauty! Washes extremely well doesn't use much water. It is a 7kg, plenty big enough but I would have preferred a faster spin speed than 800rpm I do advise getting a machine that measures the amount of water required for the load. I will never go back to a top loader. All the best!!!
I would pick the top loader without the agitator. The reason is that if you find something to add to a load once a front loader is going you cannot open it to add anything because the water will spill out.
My Mom Nana recently bought new washing machines. I don't know what brand they are (I can find out if needed) but they LOVE them. They are both top loaders but the agitator is only about 1/2 - 3/4 of the height of a regular agitator. My Mom swears her clothes are cleaner than ever. She also said the washer uses less water and spins the clothes so efficiently that they now dry in 1/2 the time. Impressive!
Front loaders if you need to watch something over and over. Top loader if you don't want to watch and loads more at a time and dosn't wear your fabrics down as fast. We have a top loader without the agitator....I evedently supply enouph aggitation for the 7 of us.
Buy a washer that has as few selection on it as possible Nobody I know has ever used but one or two of the temp or depth of water settings All the rest is to make it look neat and complicated The top loader is the best you can load that thing with all kinds of stuff shoes large and I do meam BIG large blankets without fear of leakage or when you get it out all kinds of water dribbles on your feet or pants. The front loader Glass door kind of gets looking nasty after time you know water film green stuff growing in the seams of it nasty looking in about 2 years. And you now have fear of leakage or when you get it out all kinds of water dribbles on your feet or pants. Or will the door pop open on me one time when I am not home?? In the rinse spin cycle
