Question:

Why are Canadians trying to scare drivers with an optical illusion of a child?

I am referring to this article.

Answer:

you could do it cheap and easy your self. go to your hardware store and ask for 2 half inch shark bite fittings and a foot of half inch pipe. you will also need to get a small copper pipe cutter. you can get that there too. very easy to do. cut the section out thats leaking and the fitting fit on by pressure, on major work, just make sure you shut the main water off first.
A highly reflective surface should do and here is why: A laser consists of laser-active material between two mirrors, one completely reflective and one partially reflective - that is the side where the laser beam exits. No matter how powerful you imagine the laser to be, if it can be constructed, there has to be a material that reflects close to 100% and absorbs only as much as results in manageable temperature increase. Otherwise the laser would destroy itself or the beam would exit both sides and cause destruction at both its target site and its very location.
