Question:

why are metals positively charged?

It says in my chemistry book that metals are positively charged elements. Well i want to know why that is? or if thats true?

Answer:

if they were dangerous would they be putting them in your mouth for year long periods? no
No, the metal in the braces is not dangerous. If it was dangerous then a lot of Orthodontists and manufacturers of braces brackets and wires will be in trouble. The only danger I can think of is the metal brackets and wires can hurt your oral tissues. These metal braces and its components can be sharp, so imagine you getting hit in the mouth. Your lips could get badly injured from the brackets. The difference between the ceramic and the metal braces is the esthetics. Ceramic braces aren't too obvious when worn as compared to the metal braces.
