Question:

Why are Vacuum Cleaners only advertised with a woman using it?

Don't men vacuum too?

Answer:

Good point. I've also never seen a commercial where the guy breaks down in tears because nobody asked for a second cup of the coffee he brewed. You have to realize that ad makers have to home in on stereotypes, they want the largest audience possible. But they can be subtle - the guy's gonna go out and buy his housewife the vacuum with the big, brawny motor, ya know?
Who do you think makes the purchasing decision for the vacuum cleaner in most cases? Men are not really the target audience for those advertising dollars. It would be a very poor investment. I'm sure some women use power tools, too, but I have yet to see a Craftsman commercial for Mother's Day.
Advertisements are set up to appeal to the audience that is most likely to purchase and utilize the product. Since, women are the the consumer that is most likely to use a vacuum, the advertisers try to show the women not only using the product, but enjoying an easier life because of the product. However, I've seen a few vacuum commercials which feature men. Plus, if you see a lawn mower commercial, it's probably a man riding it, because a man is the one most likely to use it in reality. ;-) I know it's disconcerting, but right now --- that's America!
Guess you havent seen OREK that guy advertises his own product and shows a guy stuck to the wall with the vacuum cleaner.
HahahhaLOL Too Funny......Men do vacuum Just probably not as often in the house. However Shop vacs that are sold at Hardware stores aren't usually advertised with women just men.
