2003 CaravanDriver side speakers dont work. Originally thought it might be issue with factory deck. Installed cd player/ still no driver side sound.Used new speaker wire running directly from stereo to the factory clip for the door speaker. NothingWired directly from stereo to speaker w/o clip. Nothing.Speaker appears fine visually.The speakers didnt work when I bought the vehicle so I have no other info.What am I missing?
The speaker wires at the door sometimes get shorted - this can blow out the amplifier/stereo or a fuse if you are lucky. If you ran the cd player through the stereo - then I would start to suspect the left side ampl. Have you tried hooking the test speaker directly to the stereo? Have you removed the wring from the door side speaker- so that if there is a short it would not affect the good speaker. Hope this helps
Test the speaker voice coil. It's most likely open. If you don't have a multimeter, just substitute a known good speaker.
