That actually beeps the keychain (alarm button) when it goes off? I understand that the actual alarm on the car is supposed to scare off would-be theives, but I myself can't really do anything about it if I am in, say, a mall or something. Why can't they design the actual key chain button to go off (in your pocket or purse) when the car alarm goes off??
Some alarms have a beeper function that can page you or otherwise warn you if someone attempts to break into your car. One of the new Volvos even has a system that can detect a heartbeat inside the car to warn you if someone is in your car waiting for you to return.
Yes, at 25k the tires are worn enough that replacing just one will cause an inbalance in the differential and could cause some really expensive damage. Spring for the set now and save yourself a headache.
With the mileage you stated, it would be ideal to replace all four so you have proper traction on all 4 tires. If the other 3 have plenty of tread life left and the tire that needs to be replaced is in a rear position, it is not necessary to replace all four.
There are quite a few after-market car alarms that work exactly this way. Do a search for 2-way alarm. Some of them have up to 1 mile range. I don't think any factory keyless entry/alarm systems have this function. It does require that you change the batteries more often than with a typical alarm fob.
Actually the New VW, have features similar to what u are looking for, I don't know the name of the car but I do see it on commercials. The actual key-chain alarm button will light up to let u know that someone has broken into your car, and it will even let you know if you left your doors unlocked and some psycho is waiting in the car for you to return. .It looked pretty cool on tv!
