did you use tubing cutters to take the end off? try that and sand it down a little don't force it wiggle it it will go
The iron may melt the decorations on your shirt. It's better to just iron around the edges as best you can, and not over the decorations themselves.
yea its gonna melt, and going to leave a big sticky mess in ur shirt and in your iron
one or the other is mismarked! Probably the compression fitting. If you are sure of the sizes of both, try a 5/16 com fit.
copper pipe may just be out of round- look at the end and make sure it hasn't been smashed or misshapen. if not round you can use a small conical shaped apparatus, such as a ring sizing stick to re-round it, it may also have a burr or a small flare from a dull cutter try sanding the outside with a piece of emerycloth to SLIGHTLY bevel the end.
