Question:

Why did my car alarm go off during a thunderstorm?

We are having a thunder storm right now. The thunder is so loud my car alarm keeps going off.

Answer:

Thunder generates strong waves of sound, especially if the lightning bolt strikes within 30'. Car alarms are sensitive to the vibrations made by the sound of thunder or even the rumble of a passing truck which will sometimes trigger the alarm. Maybe your system has a sensitively setting that can be adjusted.
