Question:

Why did the chariot use spoke-wheels?

Back in 3000 BC, chariots used spoke-wheels. Was is because they knew it was aerodynamic? It made the wheel lighter? If you can reply within 20 minutes.that would be great (7:50 right now)

Answer:

Spoke wheels naturally have a little bit of flex, so they hold up much better and make it easier on the axle. Solid wheels would break the first time you hit a bump and would be almost impossible to make, since they'd never find a perfect piece of wood that size.
They actually were only used from about 2000bc. The reason for spoked wheels was for lightness and strength. Solid wheels, as used on other wheeled vehicles, tended to split along the grain lines, under the rigors of fast riding that occurred in racing or wars.
The whole idea was to make it lighter and stronger Aerodynamics is not concerned in this case. the wheel is put under REVERSE Tension to take the immense load the wheel experiences while moving, specially when road is bad try this simple technique reduce the tension in the wheel of your bike and perform stunts Wheelie etc ure wheel will break like a piece of cheap Plastic.
