Answer:

I don't know if there is a best, what is best for one angler might not be suitable for the next. Your best bet is to go to a tackle shop where they have a lot of fishing equipment, or a sporting goods like Gander Mountain or Cabelas or Bass Pro. The sales staff are usually quite knowledgeable about this. Tell the salesperson the type of fishing you plan to do, how many rods and reels you want, and what your budget is. They can be a LOT of help. Also you can handle different types of rods to see what feels good in the hand. Then if you want to go to Walmart or another big box to save a few bucks you at least have some idea of what you should get. P.S. Please take a moment to award a Best Answer to one of those who answers your question. Not necessarily mine, but one of those who took their time to try to help.
You'll need a handyman or electrician. They are actually easy to replace, but if it's a problem with the wiring and not just a bad detector any electrician can figure it out very easily.
It sounds like you have 115volt smoke detectors which are interconnected. Each smoke detector will have a 9volt battery. The detectors usually come down by turning counterclockwise. Some have a tamper lock that require an Allen wrench. The battery compartment is on the back of the detector. Newer models have battery compartments accessible without having to take down the detector. I believe the button you pushed that made all the detectors sound was the test button. If you look closely at the detector some have the word test next to the button in very small type. The detectors usually have a pilot light on them. This light is on steady and is green or red. If it is a small LED type indicator which flashes every 10-15 seconds then you may have a low voltage smoke detector connected to a main panel. Be advised that care should be taken when handling these devices. If they are 115volt detectors I would advise turning of the power before servicing. I hope this helps
