The vehicle has a tendency to hop over the speed bump, which the idea, to reduce speed., and obviously the faster, the more push upward the vehicle receives it will loose contact with the surface if the speed is sufficient. Try it on an angle and the push is less because contact is maintained to the surface by three of the wheels and the hop is almost eliminated, especially in a vehicle with 4 wheel independent suspension.
