Question:

why do electric shocks occur?

my sister has an electricity pylon in her back garden she is constantly receiving electric shocks does the pylon have anything to do with this???

Answer:

the electromagnetic field from the tower could be charging objects around the home such as polymers, like hair, and cloths. most likely your sister walks around rubbing her feet on carpet while wearing polyester clothing or nylon that kinda stuff
I would have the power company check out that pylon. The power in the lines should be carried safely and insulated from the pylon itself. Even a cracked insulator could allow an unintended electric flow. If she is getting a shock the problem needs checked out now.
