Question:

Why do my smoke detectors keep going off!?

Why do my smoke detectors keep going off! The all beep for like 20 seconds then go off, every 5-7 minutes. It is not the battery, I have changed them already. They are First Alert and I have no idea if they are new or old. It is a rented house

Answer:

I've never seen a watch cover but to repair a face polish it with a little liquid brass polish and see an improvement.
Use an outdoor extension cord.
If you used the right ( size, outdoor, etc. ) ext. cord plugged into a GFI outlet, You could at least get electricity there. Instead of an elect. blanket, use an elect. heater fan with an adjustable thermostat and make sure it is well secured so it can't be turned over. You can get all this at almost any hardware, home improvement store for maybe 50 - 60 $$.
If the extension cord is designed for outdoor use it is OK but electric blankets are dangerous when left unattended It would be better to put some bedding in the shed for the cats to keep warm with their own body heat.
NO NO NO NO NO!!!! FIRE HAZARD!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!! An electric blanket was not meant to be kept on all night. It probably isn't a good idea to run the extension cord over snow/ice. There is a device we used for an older cat (who has since passed away). We heated it up in the microwave and it stayed warm for about 8 hours. It's called Snuggle Safe. I am including a link.
