Question:

Why do my windshield wipers squeak?

Please help. It is rather annoying.

Answer:

It's caused by surface tension when the blade skips over a dry part of the window. The fix is to keep the blades clean with a product like 20/10 cleaner. The soap in it will stop the squeak. I use in the the washer fluid - about 4 oz per fill up.
Once they clean the glass they drag on the surface and cause that noise. You can switch them to intermediate use so there will be plenty of rain on the glass to lube the thing or you can treat them with armorall but if you overdue that you'll streak the windshield. Turn the radio up! Works for me.
Time to replace them, they're really inexpensive.
