Question:

Why do plastic bottles contract and get deformed when hot water is poured into them?

Why do plastic bottles contract and get deformed (instead of expanding like other substances) when hot water is poured into them?

Answer:

I used to do synchronized swimming when I was a kid (funnyI know). We had to wear nose plugs and goggles because of all the tricks we had to do, and when we dove into the pool from the diving board, we wore our goggles. As to wearing a life jacket, you would have to jump feet-first; if you dive in head first, the buoyancy of the life jacket could really hurt you.
I'm supprised that you got it out with water Fire exts are rated by the type of b urning material abcd you should study this a little there are more speziallized ones but to many details for here
Quite honestly for industrial work you cant beat Dickies. They make coveralls that are affordable and wear like iron.
I would believe its because like with a life jacket it wont let you go down far and you could come up and hit your head on the diving board. And with goggles probably because they could fall off while diving and break and then you may have pieces floating in the pool. I've seen that most public pools don't allow at least life jackets on their diving board and thats why only experienced swimmers should be using them.
It would hurt from diving in with a life jacket. Don't know about goggles.
