Question:

Why do the San Jose Sharks GAG during the playoffs?

I'm not a Sharks fan and have never bought into the franchise. I believe the owners collect the money from sold out areas and never truly make the moves to make them a dominate player in the NHL. The owners seem to think being Regular Season Champions is better then hoisting the Cup.They choke in the playoffs like no other... is it due to peaking to early? They truly suk? Or they have just had bad luck? Please explain. Thanks

Answer:

I don't know what that guy is talking about in regards to the Sharks emulating the Wings. They play nothing like the Red Wings. I'm not sure why they choke. They are a good team, but don't seem to be there mentally sometimes. They have just been too streaky the past few years. They do it in the regular season too, but they won't get eliminated in the season for losing 4 games in a row. When their steam runs out in the playoffs, they fall hard. Maybe this year will be different, and yet maybe it will not. I think having guys like Roenick and Ozolinsh should help.
Coaching. You look at te roster Doug Wilson assembled and it's solid. It has tro be Ron Wilson. Your criticisms of owners not putting their $ into the franchise couldn't be more wrong. They went out and got Thornton, re-signed Marleau and Nabokov. When we're the Sharks ever regular season champs? They have never finished first overall. It's Ron Wilson. The guy is not the right coach for the team.
THE SHARKS DO NOT TRULEY SUCK!!!!!! The owners have a love for the game that half of the owners in the NHL will never have. If you have been on this board before, you will know that any time the Sharks are brought up, i will give you whatever answer you want and I am probably the biggest sharks fan you will ever meet. With that said, i see every sharks game and I can tell you without being biased that the sharks organization is one of the top organizations in the league. The coach's have a true love for the game, as do the players. Joe Thornton is the one who is the backbone of the sharks. OH, and, ANYONE WHO SAID THAT JOE CHOKES IN THE PLAYOFFS IS ON CRACK!!!!! HE GOT 11 POINTS LAST PLAYOFFS, SO DONT TALK WHEN YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!!! He is much better suited in SJ and he plans to spend the rest of his career here. Dont talk about things you dont know about. Just because they have never won the cup doesnt mean they dont have dedicated staff.....hmmmm....and maybe if the sharks sell out every game, the fans can see quality and dedication in the team. the sharks are a dominant team in the NHL. Im sure your opinion will change once they end up hoisting the cup this season. bad luck is a powerful thing. They have a lot of it and getting to the cup isnt easy. One day they will do it, but last season was in part due to Marleau not coming through and being the leader he should be
Being a Sharks fan since there initial inception into the league, I can tell you that your term suck is loosley based. The Sharks organization has consistently produced some of the best players in the league who've gone on to become top players on other teams. No team in the NHL has produced a more consistent crop of WINNING goaltenders. San Jose is notorious (and rightly so) for developing their talent instead of simply trying to BUY the cup such as the Red Wings, the Rangers, and some other teams have done. I admire this and if it means I have to wait a little longer to see my team hoist Lord Stanley's Holy Grail, then so be it. At least they will have truly earned it! And since your so quick to throw out terms such as suck, who is your team? You seem to fail in being so proud of them to mention them here? It's easy for bandwagon fans to cast out barbs so easily, yet they seem to truly perform the swandive when it comes to staying faithful to any team that's not winning. I suspect this is your issue. You sound like an Eagles fan lol. You might also want to try to discover a good spellchecking program the next time you decide to make a public posting.
