im not talking about very tough foils, but even the soft ones hurtwhy?

Answer:

This doesn't sound like a very good recipe to meWay too much sugar and not enough other ingredientsI would get a different recipe to tryBUT, I hate it when people complain that a candy is too sweetIt is candy for crying out loud, it is supposed to be sweet.
6 cups of sugar?! No wonderFind a different recipe.
more evaporated milk, less of both sugars
You are putting 3 cups of Brown sugar and 3 cups of icing sugar!!! Way too much sugarCut it down to maybe 2 cups of brown sugar or 1in a half?
If you have a filling made of a zinc-silver amalgam and you chew on aluminim foil there is a galvanic response, an electric shockThat is exactly what you get.an electric shockThe filling is made of an amalgam of mercury and either tin or silverWhen the aluminum foil touches the filling, a galvanic cell is created in the mouthAluminum is the anode, the filling is the cathode and the saliva is the electrolyte 'salt bridge.' The contact essentially short circuits the cell and a small amount of current flows which is sensed by the nerves in the teethThere is the pain you feel.
