Question:

Why does my car wheel wobble?

When driving my citroen c2 vts my passenger side front wheel makes a loud knocking noise. When the car is stationary and all 4 wheels are on the ground there is play when I pull and push the top and bottom of the wheel . I have replaced the ball joint and all tie rods SEEM to be straight and in tact but it is difficult to say for definite. As when pushing and pulling the wheel it is hard to see the tie rods clearly . What else could be the problem and what would be your suggestions? Thanks very much on advance

Answer:

problematic point. seek on yahoo and bing. that will might help!
The wheel bearings will allow the wheel to wobble left and right when it has either worn out or is loose. However on front wheel drive cars they dont come loose like they do on rear wheel drive cars. Jack the wheel up and push back and forth on it at the 3 and 9oclock positions. If it moves the wheel bearing is bad.
