Why does Negative G cause aircraft damage?

I understand why positive g's damage the wing, or rest of the plane, but why is there a limit for going into negative g's? doesn't a negative g put less weight to no weight on the planeIs it because a negative g is putting force on the wings in the opposite direction? towards the ground?

negative G is just the SAME FORCE (or acceleration for this purpose) acting opposite way-2 is same total as +2 certain structures are designed to withstand larger force in one direction - imagine lift crane construction, that is triangular in crossectionif you pulled the wrong way, the structure would collapse, just because your force may not be passing exactly through the lonely upper beam, (producing torque and leading to a collapse) the aircraft construction INEVITABLY acts as NONRIGID onehence the difference in the positive/negative G envelope you can imagine it different way - one desk nailed to a supportif you push, the desk acts against the support and nothing happensif you PULL, you may pull the nail with the desk out of support.
