Question:

Why does our fire alarm say &agent& instead of &fire&?

Where I work, it has many fire alarms, as most places do. The red alarm units on the walls with flashing lights that say fire on them. You get it.Anyways, there's one where I work that doesn't say fire, but instead it says agent.Aside from reminding me of Metal Gear Solid, I was completely stumped to see that. This must have some linguistic attribute that justifies it, right? Why agent?

Answer:

Unpredictable in occurrence and knowing where it will strike. Once that problem is overcome then you can tackle how to store it.
it would solve all the green energy problems in one strike.. no one has been able to store more then enough to light a few lamps.. a lot of other secondary energy sources are a lot less expensive.. hydro-thermal, solar..
Don't touch the effected eye. Once you get tears/drainage on your fingers, go wash them with antibacterial soap. If there is a high risk of getting stuff in your eyes with your job, wear some safety glasses or goggles!!! Why risk your eyesight unnecessarily? Just keep in mind that conjuntivitis (aka pink eye) is highly contageous. Keep it and any liquid that comes out of it away from other people. Don't share sunglasses and be careful about not touching it.
