Question:

why is my bearded dragon afraid to poop in her new enclosure?

i put in a fake rock background and side walls too by the way its really nice so anyways the substrate is excavator its really neat. it is a sand substrate but when you mix it with water it hardens to a concrete like sand really low risk of impaction and just in case she does get impacted i give her warm baths with a massage 1 day a week and no signs of impaction so every time i take her out to hold her she poops when i give her baths not even when she hits the water yet she pooped but never in her enclosure please help but every day i do make sure she poops but i would really like her to poop without me having to take her out to poop before this setup she was on repti carpet and pooped without any problems please help and give ideas thanks

Answer:

Maybe the best thing to do is test some new foods and substrates out. Every week you just change the substrate type and food type here are some good simple substrates you should try newspaper, artificial grass and reptile carpet. And with the food try feeding her a differant type of food every week, basically it's just about trying to find the right combination for your reptile.
