Question:

Why would new wiper blades scratch my windshield?

I recently changed my windshield wiper blades. First I went with a cheaper pair. They ended up being noisey and left streaks. I got rid of them and went with a top of the line pair. They work great and are very quiet, yet everytime I use them, I seem to notice a few more fine scratches in my windshield. The reason I replaced them to begin with was a few fine scratches. I figured the old pair did this because they were worn out. Why would this happen all of a sudden?

Answer:

it very could be edges of the top-of-the-line brand scratching your windsheild.
most likely its got dirt or small rocks under the rubber. you probably have the ones that form to the windshield, just clean it and it should disapear
