i am changing outboards from a 85 omc seadrive to a 1990 evinrude, and need to know if the original boat harness will work on the evinrude, they both have the omc red plugs and connect easily.
Since OMC also builds Evenrude and Johnson identical to everything but the paint job and logo, you won't have any problems. When any manufacturer makes a major wiring harness change, they will change the plug/socket configuration to prevent letting all the smoke out of something from a wiring mismatch.
