or leaning out the window of my bedroom?x

Answer:

Sorry - I just wanted to confirm that it's a roller and not a trainer? We used to live in the second floor, and I put two thin pillows under each side of my trainer. It wasn't as wobbley as you'd think, but it seemed to work and the downstairns neighbors never heard my workouts.
analogy means an : almost, sort of, kinda like example of something we cannot even imagine. Nobody is really sure what space and time really is. I have a BS in physics and we never even reached the discussion of Einstein's General relativity. Just read an article written by E for the public in a Scientific American. did not understand much. the idea seemed to be: Space and time are described as a mathematical idea called a Field Just as a field on a mountain side has various elevations at every point the Space time field is related to energy and Mass at every point and has a shape described in vector calculus MAYBE The math is much more complicated than I can understand. Einstein did make a prediction that the path of light from a distant star would appear, from earth to bend slightly as it passed the sun. This was actually observed in the 1900 teens. The theory predicts what are called Black Holes which cannot be seen themselves but evidence of them can be seen Astronomers have seen images of very distant galaxies that show what is called gravitational lensing supporting the Space-Time bending theory. there is no easy way to understand a very very difficult idea. If there was it would not be a difficult idea Keep thinking
