will my laser damage my eye?

ok so i bought this 200mw green laser pointer off a website and it didnt come with any safety goggles but anyway im just using it to shine it at stars at night will it damage my eye for looking at the beam? i shined on the ground a couple times but i coundnt do it anymore because its soo bright will this laser damage my eye though for just shining it in the sky?
