Question:

will my syrian hamster get stuck in tubes?

is it dangerous for a full grown syrian hamster to live in a cage that has tubes and other plastic add-ons [will it get stuck?]

Answer:

i have always loved the idea of getting tubes for my hamster but i have and will never buy them for it. it can be very dangerous if it get stuck and cant breath. i use toilet roll tubes instead. they keep them happy and its something to gnaw on.
My syrian got stuck and it took us about an hour to free him without hurting his little body. I wouldn't reccomend it, I would get a large wire cage, you can add whatever you want to them and they are airy and hammys love them much more than the kind with the tubes. If you want tubes go with paper towel rolls, with a slit down one side so that they cannot get themselves stuck. The tubes are better suited dwarves.
no. if it i not over weight it will not. my hammie is a full grown syrian and he never gets stuck. the only time he did was when he loaded his cheek puches with seeds until they were bulging out. he tried to climb up his tubes and he got stuck. but all i had to do was pull a bit and he came loose. hamsters and mice fit through tubes by spreading thier bones out to make thier body longer. if you look closely you will see that your hammie is longer when it goes through tubes. my hamster also likes to sleep in his tubes, so if yours every does then don't think he is stuck! hope i helped!
I wouldn't get the first cage on that website for a Syrian Hamster. The rest are good. Tunnel cages are probably not safe but better safe then sorry, so check out that website I put on this.
I wouldn't personally recommend that cage, since it's a real pain in the butt to clean, but even with all the tubes and such, Mozart's never had a problem. Do make sure you clean out the tubes on a regular basis, they can get a little grody. (: Hope this has helped!
