Question:

Will this sofa fit through my doorway?

There are very few obstacles inside or outside the doorway. The legs may come off of the sofa, but I'm not sure? Will professionals be able to get this sofa through one of my doors and into my house?

Answer:

As long as your doorway is at least 86 high, the sofa will most likely fit. The deliverymen will stand the sofa on end and then rotate or twist it in a letter C pattern through the door. Works like magic.
Ok let do the math: Existing Door: 32x77 (2'-8 Width/Depth x 6'-5 Tall/Height) Sofa: (38 Width/Depth x 41: Height from floor to the top x89 W/Long) Solution: The sofa will not fix thru your doorway because your existing doorway is smaller than the sofa. 32 opening vs 38sofa
Call the retailer from whom you plan to purchase the sofa and ask for the Delivery Department... they'll have the true dimensions of the sofa as it's packaged and can tell you if your doorway is sufficiently large enough to get the sofa in your home. Also, keep an eye on the delivery people and watch what they do to assemble the piece... 'cause it's likely one day you'll want to move the sofa out of your home. Hope this helps, ? ? TX Griff
It will almost certainly fit for a couple of reasons. A furniture manufacturer would soon find itself out of business if it made things that couldn't fit through a standard door, which yours is. Even though the numbers don't seem to add up and that it appears that the dimensions of the sofa are bigger than your door, all it takes is to bring the thing in at an angle and it will go in without a problem. In rare cases, the feet of the piece or a door may have to be removed from its' hinges, but those aren't hard to accomplish and will not slow the process down much. Delivery people with a little experience will know the tricks to make large objects fit into tight doorways without damaging anything. I've moved things up stairs and around seemingly insurmountable obstacles with a little finesse and forethought. Sometimes you have to tip a sofa up on end as well as on its' edge in order to get it through a particularly tight spot, but it is rare. I wouldn't worry as it sounds like your situation is a lot better than some, and the delivery guys will have no problem with it. You're right to be concerned, and it's probably a good idea to remove any possible obstacles prior to them showing up, like wall hangings, lamps, and anything they can trip over. Blankets to protect stair railings and floors isn't a bad thing to have on hand, too. A cup of coffee and a $10 - 20 tip isn't out of the question, either, if they do a good job without breaking anything and are courteous and careful. Not a requirement, but a really nice gesture because furniture delivery is a strenuous job under the best of circumstances. By the way, if I didn't mention it before, the sofa will fit through the door with no problem.
