Question:

Windshield wipers go at different speeds (compared to each other)?

The left and right windshield wipers for this car I‘m repairing (so I can have it!) go at different speeds, so that the left one overtakes the right one by the end of a wiping cycle.Upon looking under the hood, I could see that they are connected, and so I don‘t see any way for them to go at different speeds. How do I fix this?

Answer:

the holes on the connecting rod are not elongated and the nuts that hold it in place are tight.
turn wipers off--align along bottom of windshield/at base of wiper where they come up from shaft pull that little cover up-or off/secure nut in clockwise manner to tighten down/replace cover and start wipers/wipers have breakaway feature that loosens the nuts
