Question:

Windshield wipers stopped working on 2009 VW Jetta?

After having the windshield replaced on my 2009 VW Jetta the wipers have stopped working, though I can hear the motor. Is there a simple fix for this or will I need to take it in for service?

Answer:

you should by no potential attempt to function the windshield wipers without first clearing the snow off the window and making advantageous the wiper blade isn't caught to the window from the ice. continually pop them faraway from the windo first. you have got stripped the equipment flow, and would would desire to swap the motor. you should be waiting to locate one at a junk backyard quite much less high priced.
Broken Linkage.Every wiper motor uses gears and cams to move both blades in unison. It should be close to the wiper blade mounts. Many times the gear housing can be unscrewed and replaced with a new unit with just a screwdriver or nutdriver.
If you open the hood, in the wiper tray you may see a nut and a lock washer or just a nut. Then if you feel around under the lip you will find the wiper drive shafts and a hole at the end. Personally I would go back to the glass store that installed the windshield and tell them they F.U. big time. It is not they are getting paid for. Or go to a VW dealershipwhoever is closer and is open. Chances are this is warranty work. Why should you get your hand dirty?
