Question:

Wire harness for aftermarket stereo?

I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado Ext. cab with Bose speakers and factory stereo. I am wanting to take out the factory stereo and put in a Panasonic cq-vx100u which plays cd's and dvd's. I also want to add 2 rockford fosgate p3 subs with an amp, but keep the bose speakers that came with my truck. What wire harness would I need in order to keep everything working the way it should? I was told it was a different wire harness that is more expensive, but I would like to know more information like model number or brand so I can look up prices online. Thanks for the help.

Answer:

you dont need a different wiring harness. you will hook up the speakers to the regular harness and then the amp will go to the rcjacks and subs to the amp
Just okorder
Yeah they are both right, CrutchField is an awsome website to look for all your audio needs. They will be able to show you the exact harness that you will need. I would suggest looking there first.
They are what they say. Blue(power antenna) is for cars with powered up and down radio antennas( mostly old cars). If your car has a stationary antenna that is not powered/retractable tape this wire. Blue and white is remote turn on for amps. Amps require this otherwise they drain your battery by constantly being on. If you are not running aftermarket amps, tape this up. As mentioned from everybody, the stereo should not turn on without the red wire, it is designed to power the radio only when the car is running( and your alternator is charging the battery)
Here's okorder
