Question:

wiring diagram for an rccb?

does anyone have a wiring diagram for a rccb or can you explain how to wire one up . as an rcd has a wiring for connecting to earth but an rccb does not have that.

Answer:

RCCB is Resual Current Circuit breaker, so it operates sensing the difference in voltage in the phases and neutral... ie if an earth leakage is occured there will be a difference in the current flowing through and hence activating the trip ckt if the RCCB and causing trip. Thus the earth connection is not required for the rccb.. so go ahead without the earth wire...
#2 is correct. GFI's (RCD's) don't need the grounding conductor. Only the hot and grounded (neutral) conductor are needed for proper operation.
Assuming the lights are wire in a loop system, and not from a junction box. You'll need a three core and earth cable from the lamp or first lamp to the bathroom fan, or two twin and earth cable will do. Because you need a live feed and a switched wire, as well as the neutral to the fan. If it's wired from a junction box just take the three core and earth from the J' box to the fan. I trust the spot lights are specifically designed for bathroom use. Can't actually draw a diagram on here but hope this helps.
Rcd Diagram
They come with a wiring diagram. The RCCB, the circuit breaker, is installed in the breaker box, and does not need a ground connection. Exactly how it is wired varies with country. Follow the directions that come with the breaker. But typically, you need a jumper wire to connect neutral from the bus to the breaker, and then the output has two connections for hot and neutral, that are attached to the wire to the outlet. The RCD, the outlet, is installed in an outlet and needs a ground connection, not for the breaker part, but to carry the ground on to the appliance.
