Question:

Xbox 360 to LCD Monitor. What about audio?

I would like to hook my 360 to my LCD monitor with either a VGA adapter or perhaps an HDMI adapter (because my 360 doesn't have an HDMI port, go figure). Anyhow, I'm clear on how to do those things, but how is it I could get my surround sound and subwoofer to work using the 360's audio? I've seen a cable that allows you to plug in your front and left speakers, but that excludes my sub and surround?

Answer:

The XBox 360 is going out RCA Stereo (crimson and White RCA) for audio. those 2 go into your computer screen. in the journey that your computer screen does not have those, then you definately desire a convertor of a few type (in all probability to a million/8). the image you have is a RCA Stereo lady to RCA Male Mono. An liquid crystal exhibit with an RCA audio enter is in all probability no longer in mono so which you mustn't choose that cable.
To connect your XBox 360 to a computer monitor, you will need the Microsoft XBox HDAV VGA cable. If your XBox 360 is one of the very oldest ones that do not have an HDMI port, there is NO WAY you can connect it directly to an HDMI port on a display, not without a signal converter box (which defeats the purpose of HDMI anyway). The XBox HDAV VGA cable has analog stereo red-and-white L + R plugs (RCA jacks). Unfortunately it is stereo-only, but some sound systems can emulate surround sound from just those two inputs.
