Stop burning your food, try culinary school! lol. I have found this as an annoyance as well in our house, but after living through a fire, am grateful for them. If it hadn't been so sensitive, we may not have made it out safely as it spread quickly. That being said, I know this is time consuming but try disconnecting the one closest to kitchen while cooking, and use the stove vent if available.
Teddy bears, air freshners, pillows, fleeces, accessories for the wheel and gear stick, maybe seat belt covers? Yeah an extra mascara, or a spare lipstick etc..
Everyone has the right to sue. The question is whether they have a good case or not. You certainly have a case against the driver of the vehicle that would get him to cover your medical expenses. If you had any medical bills, his insurance should be covering those. If not, contact his insurance company. They should handle that without a lawsuit. However, by your own admission, you had a bruise and a scrape. I don't think that qualifies as pain and suffering in the eyes of a jury. If you were a leg model, you could try to claim a loss of income due to the scar, but the other side would argue that falling and getting a scrape is a reasonable expectation when wearing roller skates in an area with moving vehicles. As for a possible suit against the restaurant about all you'd probably accomplish here is getting them to put in speed bumps or signage. Since no real damage was done, you won't have much of a case. You could probably find an ambulance chaser (aka sleezy attorney) to sue for millions, but the case would probably get thrown out and you'd have to pay your legal fees. (I doubt any attorney would take this case pro bono or solely on a percentage basis)
