It sounds like on of the devices are faulty/dirty. As for repair, it depends on what type of detectors you have installed (ionisation / optical / heat) as the course of action for each is different. One thing for sure. DO NOT DEACTIVATE YOUR SYSTEM AND HAVE IT EXAMINED BY A PROFESSIONAL IMMEDIATELY.
The answers are incorrect. Smoke detectors in your situation are tied together on purpose so that if there is a fire anywhere in the complex you will get the alarm. Someone in the complex is setting your alarm off. It is working as it should.
'Laser Printers employ a laser beam to create an image on a drum. The light of the laser changes the electrical charge in the drum wherever it gets hit. Then, the drum is rolled onto a reservoir of toner, which is picked up by the altered portions of the drum. Consequently, the toner is being transferred to the paper by an amalgamation of heat and pressure, in the same way a photocopier operates.' (Source 3)
Smoke detectors are not designed to last forever. If it is over ten years old, it is time to have it replaced. Call your landlord and have them replace it as soon as possible. They only cost about $20 and take about ten minutes to install - if your landlord has any sense at all, you should get no resistance to this request.
i would call the person that is managing the apartments and let them come in and figure out what is wrong with themit is after all part of your rent agreement and as they are hardwired..its not a matter of a simple battery replacement
