Question:

1993 Grand Marquis LS - Speakers?

I Have purchased a 93' Marquis LS and it has the stock speakers ini swapped decks already and just wondering how i would go about getting the back fabric out to swap the rear speakersAnd they are 6x9's right? (its a big car with 5x7 door speakers so it better have rear 6x9's lol) thanks in advance

Answer:

From what I remember, these speakers can be removed from the trunk. Open the trunk, look inside, there should be some covers over the speakers. Take those off, then there should be a large rubberband-type thing holding the speakers up.
you can cut the fabric around the rear speakers. a lot of my friends did it, most 6x9s even have their own grill so you dont need a cover and even if you didnt have covers they still look nice. i actually just swapped out my friends 6x8s yesterday in his door panels. fun times. you dont need the fabric that is covering the speakers but dont cut farther than the speakers of itll look like crap.
hello, congratulations on your new deck purchase. I would advise AGAINST putting in the new speakers in that the car company put a lot of thought into placing the speakers in the first place. so, unless one is like blown out, I'd stay back from that idea. good luck : }
