I have a 20 gallon long eclipse 2 fish tank. It is currently set up as a saltwater fish tank but I want to redo the tank as I have let it go. I currently have live sand, but would like to change the substrate to crushed coral or something else. What else would be a good substrate? Also, is 30 lbs of live rock enough for the tank? Do I need a protein skimmer for just fish and live rock? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
dolomite is the best as it buffers and maintains ph for many years and ages well 20 lbs of live rock will do fine 30 lbs won't give much room for fish to swim use a skilter brand filter as it's a protein skimmer and filter and for a 20 it is all you need buy the larger of the two and you will be amazed at the water quality that's skilter the eclipse top with the built in filter is garbage, throw it out or give it away and buy a cheap basic full flourescent hood and a skilter
a dodge. haha. consider the physics of sound. lower noises are created by slower vibrations, usually bigger mediums (aka piping) get a very large exhaust piping kit for your truck, and put a mild to moderately restrictive muffler on to keep it from just sounding loud and stupid. the low tones from the larger piping create rumble and deep tones, while the muffle will keep it from sounding glass packy.
You truthfully would desire to do a extra physically powerful thank. maximum clownfish to be satisfied and healthful would desire to have 15G each, different styles of clownfish are distinctive. maximum advise a minimum of a 30G tank. And for the money you will already be spending, you will desire to besides circulate vast with a 50G or extra. it's going to be fairly worth your money. you does no longer have the capacity to extra healthful many fish/snails/shrimp because of the bioload.
crushed coral is a good substrate. 30lbs of live rock is fine. i have 90lbs of it in my 29 gallon. the more live rock, the less chance your tank will have poor water quality. it is very beneficial. no you do not need a protein skimmer for just fish and live rock. you may want a better filter and a powerhead. my 29 gallon FOWLR tank has the following equipment- tank, stand, standard lighting, 2 aquatech 20-40 filters (circulate my tank about 11 times per hour) submersible heater, 25lbs crushed coral, and 90lbs of live rock. skimmers are good, but not totally neccesary. i would use it if you were doing coral. and ive found with the live rock and crushed coral, my ph does not need a buffer. it stays fine without haveing to put chemicals in the tank. good luck and hope this helps.
id go for FOX exhausts. great sounding exhausts.
