Question:

2007 Chevy Uplander automatic sliding door problems?

I've had no problems with the door until today, I pushed the button to close it, and as it closed it made a big "POP" sound. Now the automatic buttons don't work. And we have to manually open it. Is there any way I can get it fixed without having to pay up to $1,000 at the dealer? ---- Not under warranty. I really need this working again with a new baby on the way.

Which one is not working the driver side or the passenger side? ADDED: The APSD (automatic power sliding door) Module Initialization procedure rarely fixes the problem! There are 10 TSB's (technical service bulletins) From GM (I don't know why the GM customer service rep. didn't mention that) This is the proper procedure for testing: 1. Push one of the power sliding door switches. 2. Listen for the sliding door unlatch actuator to cycle. 3. If is not heard, check for corrosion on the door contact plate on the pillar and on the door contacts. Clean if necessary
I guess the first answer didnt read your problem, didnt see the BUTTONS NOW DONT WORK statement. So ignore the top two responses. I guess both didnt read your statement about the buttons not working, that popping sound isnt good. Nope, pretty much your going to have to get the dealership to fix that puppy!!!! That pop sound was probably the cable snapping & it disable the entire system that is why the buttons do not work anymore. If it is the cables, you will have to replace the entire sliding door mechanism. You may want to get use to opening & closing that door manually if you dont want to shell out the money to have it fixed.
juoquine, Here is an idea to reset the Power Sliding door that is in you manual: Resetting the Power Sliding Door The power sliding door may operate incorrectly or not at all because of the following conditions: ? A low voltage or dead battery ? A disconnected battery ? If the instrument panel PSD/fuse 21, LHPSD/fuse 24 or RHPSD/fuse 25 are removed or blown. See Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 527 for more information. If any of these conditions occur, the power sliding door may need to be reset. If your vehicle has the dual power sliding doors, both doors will have to be reset. To reset a door, do the following: 1. Check to be sure the power sliding door is unlocked and securely closed. 2. Turn the ignition to LOCK. 3. If the power sliding door overhead console switch is in the override (deactivation) position, return to the activation position. 4. Open the sliding door using the remote keyless entry transmitter, overhead console switch, or passenger switch. Allow the door to travel fully open. If the door does not travel to the fully open position, press the overhead console switch to the override (deactivation) position and slide the door fully open and closed. Check for foreign objects in the tracks. Repeat the procedure starting with Step 1. If the door resists travel to the fully open position, see your dealer for service. I hope this helps! If you need anything else feel free to ask! Thank you, Evan, GM Customer Service
