I have a dodge 2000 intrepid w/ infinity sound system it uses a spatial imaging audio system, the right door speaker is broken, and the system only uses that speaker for bass. Should I order the $174 replacement speaker from dodge (part number 04760374AB) or is there another 6.5 inch midrange speaker I should get for 174 dollars or under that is better which is only going to be used for bass.

Try a salvage yard for direct replacement. Wow! I think I've just experienced deja vue!!
I would write to Infiniti and see if they have an aftermarket product that might be cheaper. Or talk to the guys at Crutchfield -- call them on the phone the old fashioned way and just get their opinion. You might do better to replace the pair instead of just one and spend less money.
you have to replace the speaker with the same or very similar speaker i believe that midbass speaker is a 2 ohms call this people 407-933-1065 they only carry original radios and speakers and prices are very good also going to the junk yard is wasting time and buying a used spaker that will go bad in no time, and you have to do all the work again get a new one don't listen to sparky he needs sex
