I have a 96‘ Ford Thunderbird, and I can‘t lock the doors without the car alarm going off. I‘ve tried using the door panel instead of the key chain, and it still doesn‘t work. Is there a way to turn off the alarm completely and just use the door locks??
It is an unsafe attempt to ground you wiring. Using pipes is dangerous. You need to invest in at least 1 preferably 4 ground rods and some 2 gauge wire. The ground rods will be between 4-6 feet long and be a copper clad metal. You may want to get a ground rod driver to keep from damaging the rods when you drive them in. You will place then near the foundation and as deep as possible. Then run you grounds off of them. You should put a ground junction at your meter box and run it inside to your breaker box. If you leave it hooked up to that pipe someone could get hurt if you ever get the ground wire energized for some reason. Grounding to pipes is not a safe ground.
Since the cold water supply pipe come in from underground, electrically it's the same as driving a metal rod into the ground (earth) to provide an electric ground.
