Question:

A jet plane is speeding down the runway during takeoff. Air resistance is not negligible.?

Identify the forces on the jet. (Select all that apply.)thrustmagnetic forcedrag forcenormal forcelift forceNo forces are acting on the jet ulombic forcegravitational forceI know that there is gravitational force from the weight of the jet, and normal force coming up from the ground, but what else is there?

Answer:

DC -9 (model 30) 2 * 15500 lbsF - thrust 31000 lbsF 105000 lbs - mass u r the physicists go for it /** sorry liz **/ /** Didn't read the**/ /** question right **/
You have a normal (or lifting ) force to counteract the weight. You have a thrust that is needed in order to accelerate and counteract the drag.
thrust drag force normal force lift force gravitational force But actually the other two are present also, but very small. Coulomb forces because of static generated by the planes motion, and magnetic due to interaction of magnetic materials on the plane with the earth's magnetic field.
