Question:

after you serve your term in the us army is there an option to buy your old gun?

(optional)

Answer:

I have never heard of that before. I would think they would use it over again, that would be a waste of the governments money. Those rifles are not cheap.
No, but the RMP's are never particularly concerned with a cavity/car search when you leave for the day, so if you can somehow get a rifle out of Q-Store unnoticed you'll be scot-free.
First dont say gun, it's a rifle. Second it was never at any point your rifle, it was the Army's. When you are done with that rifle it goes to the next guy who needs it. Its not going to happen.
No. There is no your gun. You would go through dozens if not hundreds of different individual rifles during your time in service. You could buy a civilian-legal, aesthetically identical version from a manufacturer such as Bushmaster or Colt for about $1000, but under no circumstances would it be a military-owned rifle that you are purchasing.
Yeah, my uncle was stationed in a missile silo and bought one of those ICBMs
