I am thinking about purchasing an unlocked Palm which runs on Windows Mobile. I don't think it comes with AIM. I guess I would download it from the website. My question is, if I do -- will AIM then run in the background when my phone is on standby/off or will I only receive messages when my phone is active?
If your phone is on standby and you're logged in, you will be alerted. If your phone is fully powered off, you will not (unless you tweak the settings around to allow the application to turn on your phone). You can customize a lot on the Windows Mobile phones just depends on how much time you have to learn the steps and procedures to make it work the way you want it to.
