Question:

air force-aerospace ground equipment apprentice?

i just got into tech school for USAF as an aerospace ground equipment apprentice and was wandering if this is a good job? what kind of things can i expect to be doing everyday? is there a good chance i will get deployed to iraq? i would appreciate any advice anyone has. thanks

Answer:

You will be repairing different ground equipment used in the air force. anything from the tugs that move aircraft around, To the electrical power generators that provide power to aircraft while on the ground. To the fuel, handling systems, To air conditioner units that provide cooling air to aircraft, To portable kerosene heaters that airmen use to keep warm in the winter. Your job will be to keep them in good repair and good condition and to make sure they are where they are needed. Your Job will involve electronic, hydraulics, pneumatics. You will work inside a hanger most of the time, but have go to the flight line frequently. Yes you will deploy, anywhere the air force sends aircraft.
