How are you natural resources(bauxite, gold, iron ore, manganese, nickel, phosphates, platinum, tin, uranium, petroleum, hydropower, timber) used?? like, what purpose do they serve? There is no point in worrying of getting upset. It was probably packing material that came with the ceiling fan when it was new.
back in the 50's it was used for home insulation--as long as the stuff was left undisturbed it is fine--if it is crushed it will release the asbestos--your kid was barely exposed to it-so no worries. I have about 8 inches of it in my attic crawlspace right now--no problems!
