Question:

Aluminium lazy susan without bearing?

I'm doing a Design and Technology project where i have to make a lazy susan out of aluminium as simply as possible, anyone know how i would be able to make it spin fluidly without needing anything complicated?

Answer:

All depends on how heavy it is, how heavy the load will be, and how long you want it to lastUsually, these are made with very large diameter bearing setsso heavy load on one side won't upset it's mechanical functioningMight try putting a glass cigar tube in the center spire, riding on an inverted nail coming up from the baseMight put a crossed base with wheels or ball bearings near the outside of each spokeMight try a 2 or 3 inch ball bearingA trip to Lowe's specialty hardware department is a good start.
Plastic container with a clip on lid that won't let air enter and the food will stay fresh for longer but ham will produce a slimy surface.
