Answer:

If you're going to sell the items, I suggest that you don't use your old clothingIf you do make your items out of old clothes, it might be a good idea to inform customers of what you're doing You can always make items out of your old clothing and then use those items as advertisementTake photos and suchOr use them as templates for future projects Most fabric stores sell printed fabric so keep searchingGood luck!
Just make sure to wash them very well before starting your projectI generally use a very hot water and dryer if I'm recycling old materialThat gets them clean and if they are going to shrink, I'd rather they shrink before I finish my projectLots of crafters use old clothingI know people who buy wool clothes and make them into latch hook strips for their rug projectsI've used old hankerchiefs for wonderful craft projects (small pillows, sachets and trim on pillow cases)Some wonderful quilts can be found that are made from old clothing by people on very limited budgetsSuper cleaning the fabric before you start is the key.
Contact a salvage yard to see if they have another set of aluminum rims like the ones that came on the car in the first placeThis would be your least expensive optionYou could also go to any good tire shop and tell them what you wantThey will be able to get you a rim of the proper size and backspacing.
