Oh yes I remember the incident very well in 2003. A Jewish American college student Rachel Corrie decided to go to Gaza to stop the Israelis from bulldozing Palestinian homes. Israelis charged that terrorists were using women and children in their homes as human sheilds. She stood in front of a bulldozer and was run down and killed by an Israeli soldier. She was from the Seattle area I believe. A couple of years ago, someone produced a play called "My Name Is Rachel Corrie" about her life but many cities in the US refused to allow the production, much to my dismay. The Seattle Jewish newspaper published an announcement of the production in 2008 I think and in the same issue, a Jewish organization countered that with how terrible Rachel was to be sympathetic to Gaza. That was very tasteless in my opinion to publish both in the same issue. I don't have to look at your links because I know this story very well and I am happy they named the Irish ship after her. It still makes me cry to think of it.
