Question:

Any ideas how to get a cheesecake not to crack when baking it.?

i know they say use a water bath and that lets it cook evenly, but if you have spring form pans I don't think that will work, they leak.any suggestions?

Answer:

A little more information would possibly help but as most materials have some sort of memory as far as shape is concerned then very often you need to over bend and then adjust to what you actually need.
you need to heat it up to about 600 degrees farenheit you should be able to do this in you basic oven if you put it on its highest setting and place it as close to the elements as possible but not touching them, or if you have a self cleaning oven then put it in on the rack wherever in the oven, the grab it with welding gloves and bend away
You must form the metal into the shape you wantThe outside must be stretched while the inside of the curve is compressed This is easier to do with iron or copper than AlIt is a difference in the molecular structure of the different metals Search in a metal working or artistic iron works web pagesYou will find a description of rollers that are used to form wrought iron railings and other iron formsThis works best with a narrow piece of metalToo wide a piece and the sheet tends to go back to it's original shape For very large pieces, like the wing surface of an aircraft, a large metal press is used to force the skin against a form.
