My mom said to stuff aluminum foil in one of the holes but I want this sucker GONEMy landlord put in some glue traps too.any other ideas?
Rats are very resourcefull and always provide themselves with a safety entrance/exitIf you plug the holes, and they are inside of a building, they will just CHEW a new way in/outThey are social rodents and if they like their digs, will make every effort to stay therePoisons work by making the animal extremely thirsty after eating the baitIt will attract more if they are in the areaThe poison acts quickly once the animal drinksIf they don't have a water source handy (pet water dish, glasses or cups in sink with water in them, etc.) they will have to go outside to drinkPets, especially cats, don't eat a dead animal they didn't kill themselves, and are acute to something not acting right and have a keen sense of smell, in MOST cases will leave the rat aloneA spring-loaded RAT TRAP works very wellIt needs to be placed in one of their 'regular route' runways, in a dark or hidden location if possibleThey are most active after darkPeanut butter is irresistible-they can't pass it upOnce, you set your traps-check them daily if you don't hear them snap or are goneRemove a caught rat promptly, wrap in paper, put in a plastic bag and into the garbageMost important!!! YOU MUST clean the trap with a bleach and water solution and allow to dry before re-settingThis will eliminate the dead animal smell or dried blood that they would detect and others would avoid the trapThey can smell this even over the BEST peanut butterStay vigilate-rats mate quickly and are seldom aloneKeep the lure fresh and check oftenYou may have to try more than one location but you will get them.
